At Jubilant, safety of people at work, plant & machinery and public at large are of utmost importance along with business activities. The main objectives of the safety system is to minimize the risk of injury or illness to employees by ensuring safety training, information, support and equipment needed to work safely in the laboratory.

EHS management objectives

  • To provide information on safe use, storage and disposal of laboratory chemicals.
  • Pollution prevention & reductions in accidents, costs, absence and/or claims.
  • Better regulatory compliance of Environmental & OHS Requirements.

EHS Management Approaches

  • Identification of hazards and assessment of risk involved in various activities for adopting the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop and implement effective systems such as workplace SOPs, work permits, ‘on site emergency’ plan, and system of reporting incidents and built in preventive measures.
  • Safety training, resources and consultation for a variety of laboratory safety issues, including chemical safety, emergency preparedness, electrical safety, use of various emergency equipment and other topics.
  • Proper and safe disposal of laboratory waste.

  • The technical safety program led by the laboratory inharges/group leader and external trainers.
  • Laboratory safety support and training by Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Guidelines/Instruction and oversight by lab inharges and EHS coordinators.
